As a photographer, I specialize in unique portraits, and strive to capture the tiny moments that make an individual just that - completely original. I am not a traditional portrait photographer, in the sense that I will not have you sitting in a studio with intimidating artificial lights, maneuvering through awkward poses. While I have nothing against artificial light, and do employ it from time to time, I work hard to accomplish a more natural looking portrait through the use of natural light, and exciting locations.
When I am not photographing others, I photograph myself. My self-portraits have been used by Random House, Volkswagen, numerous magazine publications, musicians and business owners. I am always open to granting the usage of my images depending on the project for which it will be used, and am also available for commissioned work. Compensation, obviously, will vary from project to project, so feel free to approach me with any ideas you may have.
In addition to photography, I also tutor photographers and designers on how to take self-portraits, and also how to process their self-portraits through Photoshop and Lightroom.
All portrait sessions start at a flat rate of $300, with a $50 charge for each additional "look" or costume change. Portrait sessions can incompass anything from senior portraits, to children, bridal, even pets! Or, if you are just looking for some fun photos of yourself, the sky is the limit.
The price of my portrait session includes two and a half hours of shooting, and a CD with 50 high resolution digital files. You may purchase additional files in packages of 5 for $25 . Also included in the price is editing time (usually about 8 hours total), and any location scouting that needs to be done prior to your shoot. I will generally have your photos processed and ready to view within 10-14 business days.
I prefer to meet with my clients at least once before our shoot. Because of the nature of my work, I find that getting to know you a little bit before our shoot will help me find aspects of your personality to highlight through my photographs of you, and will also give you a chance to become comfortable with me. Part of the experience of hiring me as a photographer is having fun! If you are relaxed and enjoying yourself during the shoot, I can guarantee that your photos will be something that you will enjoy for the rest of your life.
Whether you simply want to learn more about your camera and how to compose your shots, or you need guidance with your editing, I am here to help! My specialties are Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. My price per hour is $50, and I can either tutor you via email, skype or in the comfort of your own home.
In addition to my services as a photographer, I am also a part-time blogger and have wrtten an eBook for Digital Photography School. I am always happy to assist you with writing for your blog or magazine publication. My compensation per article varies, depending on size, but in most cases, especially for interviews, I will write for you free of charge!
Are you a musician, writer or business owner looking for commissioned work? If so, I am always excited to collaborate with you to get your project going.
